Membership in the society is open to individuals who have demonstrated scholarly achievement in the area of international educational interchange. These individuals include:

  • International students (non-immigrant visa holders in the upper division or graduate/professional level) who have demonstrated high scholastic achievement at the University of Iowa;*
  • Domestic students (upper division and graduate/professional level) who have demonstrated high scholastic achievement in the pursuit of international educational interchange through University of Iowa recognized study abroad or internship abroad programs;*
  • Staff, faculty, and post-doctoral fellows and scholars who have been involved in University of Iowa recognized international endeavors (i.e. research, teaching, program development, or services).**

*Student membership into the Society is based on the following criteria:

  • Student must be an upper division undergraduate or a graduate/professional student who has demonstrated academic excellence i.e. undergraduates must have a UI cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above and graduate students must have a UI cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

AND

  • Student must be in good standing with the University of Iowa at the time of application.

AND

  • Student has studied or worked abroad through a University of Iowa recognized education or work abroad program.

OR

  • Student is an international student on a valid non-immigrant status.

**Staff, faculty, and post-doctoral fellows/scholars' membership into the Society is based on the following criteria:

  • Staff, faculty, and post-doctoral fellows/scholars who have been involved in University of Iowa recognized international endeavors (i.e. research, teaching, program development, or services).
